HDR10+ standard confirmed for Samsung’s 2022 TVs for a more immersive experience

Samsung has announced that displays including TVs and gaming monitors that are slated for a 2022 release will have HDR10+ support.

Samsung HDR10+ GAMING Standard

With consoles becoming more powerful and on par with PCs, TV manufacturers including Samsung are putting heavy emphasis on incorporating features normally found in gaming displays into the large-scale TV department to benefit everyone from running things like PS5 and Xbox Series X where HDR10+ promises better color expression and brightness contrast adjustment on the fly thanks to the metadata providing flexible reference tone and mapping curve definition configured by content creators and game developers. As another partnership with NVIDIA, the GeForce RTX 30 series, 20 series and GTX 16 series will support HDR10+ for this year as well.

With 4K gaming getting more mainstreamed while 8K taking yet another baby step this year, lifelike scenes from games are not really that far from us, honestly.
